Smoke & CO Alarm Specialists

Smoke Alarms.
Tested. Maintained. Replaced.

An alarm that hasn't been tested is a liability, not a safeguard. We test, maintain and replace smoke and CO alarms on a fixed schedule, across every sector — so nothing lapses, and nothing gets forgotten.

Questions

Frequently asked

How often do smoke alarms need replacing?

Most smoke and CO alarms have a working life of around 10 years, after which the sensor degrades regardless of how well it's maintained. Our Full Lifecycle Plan builds this replacement into the monthly fee so it's never a surprise cost.

Do landlords have to test alarms every year?

The Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm (England) Regulations require testing at the start of every tenancy, and it's best practice to test at least annually regardless of tenancy changes.

What's the difference between Grade A and Grade D1 systems?

Grade A systems have a control panel and standby power supply, typically required for HMOs and higher-risk properties. Grade D1 is mains-powered with battery backup, interlinked, and suitable for most single-let rented homes.
