EV Charge Point Specialists

EV Charge Points.
Installed. Tested. Maintained.

From a single 7kW driveway unit to a three-phase workplace bank, we install, test, maintain and replace domestic and commercial EV charge points — every point wired and certified to BS 7671 Section 722 and the IET Code of Practice, by an OZEV approved installer.

Why it matters

The standards we work to

Every charge point is installed, tested and certified against the specific standards that govern EV supply equipment — not a generic electrical install.

BS 7671 Section 722

EV charging installations

The dedicated section of the 18th Edition wiring regulations covering electric vehicle charging equipment — every point is designed and certified to it.

IET Code of Practice (5th Edition)

EV charging equipment install

The IET Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation — our working reference for siting, protection and commissioning.

OZEV Approved Installer

Grant-authorised work

Office for Zero Emission Vehicles authorisation, required to claim the EV Chargepoint Grant and Workplace Charging Scheme on your behalf.

Reg 722.411.4.1

PEN fault / open-PEN protection

Open-PEN protection is mandatory on PME supplies — we fit devices that disconnect the vehicle on loss of the combined neutral-earth conductor.

BS EN 61851

EV conductive charging

The product standard for Mode 2 and Mode 3 conductive charging systems, defining the control pilot signalling every compliant charger uses.

Building Regs Part S

Charge points in new buildings

Since 2022, new dwellings and many non-domestic buildings must provide EV charge points — we install to meet the Part S provision.

Load management / DLB

Dynamic load balancing

Where the incoming supply is limited, dynamic load balancing throttles charge current to stay within capacity, avoiding a costly supply upgrade.

Charger types & modes

The right charger for the supply and the vehicle

EV charging spans several charging modes, power ratings and connection styles. We scope the correct type to your supply, parking and vehicle before we quote.

MODE 2

Portable EVSE with in-cable control box — a standard 13A socket top-up, not a fixed install

MODE 3

Dedicated hard-wired AC charge point with control pilot — the standard home and workplace unit

UNTETHERED

Socketed unit — bring your own cable, future-proof for different connectors

TETHERED

Fixed captive cable — plug straight in, tidiest for a private driveway

7kW 1-PH

32A single-phase — the typical domestic charge point, full charge overnight

22kW 3-PH

32A three-phase — faster AC charging where a three-phase supply is present

DC RAPID

50kW+ direct-current rapid charging for forecourts, depots and destination sites

OCPP SMART

OCPP-connected smart chargers — remote monitoring, tariff scheduling and back-office billing

Questions

Frequently asked

Can I still get a grant towards an EV charger?

Yes, for eligible properties. The OZEV EV Chargepoint Grant is available to renters and people in flats, and the Workplace Charging Scheme funds a portion of the cost per socket for businesses and charities. As an OZEV approved installer we check eligibility and claim the grant on your behalf.

What is PEN fault protection and why does my charger need it?

Most UK homes are on a PME (TN-C-S) earthing supply. If the combined neutral-earth (PEN) conductor is lost, the car's bodywork could become live. BS 7671 Section 722 (Reg 722.411.4.1) requires open-PEN protection, which we build into every install using a device or charger that disconnects on a PEN fault.

Do I need a three-phase supply for faster charging?

For AC charging above 7.4kW, yes — a 22kW charger needs a three-phase supply. Most homes are single-phase, which supports up to 7kW. We survey your supply first and, for commercial sites, can arrange a three-phase upgrade or design dynamic load balancing to make the most of existing capacity.

What is load management and when do I need it?

Dynamic load balancing (DLB) monitors the whole-site demand and automatically reduces charge current when other loads are high, so you never exceed your incoming supply. It lets you add multiple chargers to a car park or depot without an expensive supply upgrade.

How long does a home charger install take?

A standard 7kW single-phase install is usually completed in half a day. It includes siting the unit, running the cable, fitting protective devices, commissioning and testing to BS 7671 Section 722, and issuing your installation certificate. Longer cable runs or supply upgrades add time, which we confirm at survey.
